Just as people know how Microsoft looks, we want then to immediately recognize how we talk. Our voice works hand in hand with design to tell our complete story.
Art and copy need each other, and everyone needs a handy pocket-sized book to reference the Microsoft voice. Following our voice principles, we needed to be warn and relaxed, crisp and clear, and ready to lend a hand. The soft touch cover welcomed readers into a quick paced, bright, fun-loving booklet. Short memorable phrasing, and delightfully simple and clean typography is all that was needed. Less is more.
In addition to the booklet, we were able to produce a short animated piece to share with colleagues and compliment the print piece.
And it was so great, we even made a second edition, with some updated colors and layouts.
